Jut finished the install of a "new" low mileage 96+ JDM motor. Let it run for about 15 minutes, checked timing, idle, etc and THEN compression ~140 PSI!!! FSM says 171 is standard. Called the vendor and he said to drive it a couple of days and then check again. I put about 50 miles on it today, engine good and hot, numbers were worse. Anybody ever heard of compression getting better over time... not likely, eh? Really don't want to pull this thing back out AGAIN but expected much better from a "low mileage motor". All numbers are within 10 PSI and oil in cylinder helps which indicates ring wear. Thoughts?
